Snakeskin Jacket is an interdependent theatre company located in Winnipeg, MB that began in 2006 when a group of friends banded together to produce Daniel MacIvor’s The Soldier Dreams. It is fair to say that we began as a fringe theatre company. It is also true that we are Black Hole at the core. Ultimately, however, we have grown into much more. Snakeskin Jacket now produces a re-occurring festival of new short plays and films, as well as inspired theatrical productions. Snakeskin Jacket believes in the writer: Noonan, Shepard, MacIvor, and the others. Snakeskin Jacket believes in friends, the artist, and the truth.
I don’t think you go to a play to forget, or a movie to be distracted. I think life is generally a distraction and that going to a play is a way to get back, not go away. — Tom Noonan
All good art is an indiscretion. — Tennessee Williams
SAILOR: Did I ever tell ya that this here jacket represents a symbol of my individuality and my belief in personal freedom?
